This sculpture is a hand-carved soapstone bear created by Canadian artist Ross Parkinson. Parkinson is a Scottish-Canadian sculptor born in 1958 who became a full-time artist at age 17. The stone is a dark grayish green and made of steatite - more commonly known as soapstone. The bear measures approximately 4.25 inches long and 2.25 inches high. He does have some age to him and some visible scratches, so please view all photos carefully prior to purchase.
